The Film

CICLO is a feature-length documentary revolving around an extraordinary journey...

In 1956 two brothers left the city of Pachuca, Hidalgo with a dream: to cycle across the continent all the way to Canada. 80 days and 5,600 kilometres later, they reached their dream, becoming the first Mexicans to accomplish this.

Today, in the company of these two brothers, we will retrace the same route, in an exploration of the heart, the cycles of life and the inescapable passage of time.

The Route

The path the brothers followed took them through Pachuca, Ixmiquilpan, Zimapán, and Jacala (Hidalgo), Tamazunchale, Ciudad Valles (San Luis Potosí), Ciudad Mante, Ciudad Victoria, Linares (Tamaulipas), Monterrey (Nuevo León) and Nuevo Laredo. In the United States they went through the cities of San Antonio, Austin, Georgetown, Waco, Dallas, Little Rock, St. Louis, Springfield, Bloomington, Chicago, Michigan City and Detroit, until crossing the border with Canada and arriving at the ciy of Toronto.

The film will be shot in the summer of 2009, in all of the places the brothers went through 53 years ago.
